To register a company in Cambodia the basic requirements are to have a business e-visa visa which must be extended for at least 6 months. After that , the next requirement is to find an office, which needs to be signed with a lease for at least 1 years. An LLC Sole proprietorship costs less to register than a medium enterprise or a large company, however, taxes are the same. Foreigners can be the directors or in 100% total control of the company and they can have local Cambodian staff if they wish to. Company registration takes 3 to 6 weeks, depending on which company is registered. During the process, company owners don’t need to be present in Cambodia, however, eventually they need to physically come to come to sign some documents and for the authorities to check the office.

It is not possible to register a company without physically coming to Cambodia. Regarding taxation, all taxes must be filed before the 25th of March. It is recommended to hire an accountant. VAT is applicable to self-declaration regime entities and is charged at 10% on the value of the supply of most goods and services. Office tax is of 10% of the rental fee and income tax is 5 to 10 percent tax on average. The minimum salary for the foreign director of the company is of 700$, while a Khmer shareholder or director is of 700$. There is also a 20% capital gains tax or 1% a month if you declare no profit.
